West Fargo, North Dakota

Built-ins in West Fargo, ND

I build mudroom benches, closets, and basement storage for West Fargo homes — designed around your household and fitted to your rooms.

The entry that fills with boots every October. The closet that holds half of what you own. The basement corner waiting for a reason to exist. Those are the projects I do best.

A design approach

Start with your household, not a floor plan

The city keeps community orchards in Eagle Run, Charleswood, The Wilds, and Shadow Wood (City of West Fargo, Community Orchards) — just place references, but they remind me that every part of town is made of individual households, not one kind of home. Whether you’re in Charleswood or Eagle Run, the starting point is your room: where coats land, what you need to store, and how much space you want to keep open.

That’s the whole premise of a good mudroom or closet project. Two families with the same entryway footprint will need different things — one has toddlers’ gear, the other has hunting season and a dog. I plan the bench heights, cubby depths, and hanging space around what you actually bring through the door, then build it to fit the wall it’s going against. No two quotes look the same, because no two households are.

Scribing means fitting an edge to the actual shape of a wall or adjacent surface. Walls are never as straight as they look, and a built-in earns its keep when its edges follow the room exactly.

A practical checklist for West Fargo projects

For storage projects especially, the details of your routine matter more than any style photo. A few notes before we talk:

  • Count who uses the space and what they bring in — boots, bags, gear, groceries
  • Photograph the room from the doorway and from each corner, plus the wall where the work would go
  • Measure the rough width and height available; note any doors, windows, or vents in the way
  • Note what frustrates you about the current setup — that’s usually the real spec
  • For basements: note ceiling height, any moisture history, and what the space is used for now
  • For closets: list what hangs vs. what folds vs. what gets tossed on a shelf
  • Mention timing if it matters — a mudroom before winter is a common reason to start

Quote logistics

How a West Fargo project moves forward

Send photos, your city or ZIP, and a description through the contact form. I’ll review it and we’ll discuss fit and scope — what’s custom, what the room allows, and what I’ll need to see in person. A site visit and measurements come when the project needs them; your quote outlines labor, materials, hardware, finishing, installation, and what’s driving the schedule. The full sequence is on my process page.

For basement and bathroom-adjacent work, we’ll talk through moisture and regulated-scope boundaries early — what carpentry covers, and where plumbing, electrical, or waterproofing lines fall.

Honest territory statement

West Fargo is one of my three primary markets, alongside Fargo and Moorhead. Nearby inquiries outside the city are considered individually by scope, location, and schedule. Have a larger project outside the immediate metro? Send the location and a few details, and we can talk about whether it’s a fit.

EDITOR NOTE — not public copy Verify owner input: routine coverage list for the West Fargo side (confirm before naming communities as served). Local facts used: S7 (community orchards in Eagle Run, Charleswood, The Wilds, Shadow Wood per City of West Fargo — used as place references only, not evidence of housing styles or remodeling demand). No job stories fabricated; no assumptions about housing age, incomes, or buyer preferences. No neighborhood implied as a past work location. Cross-check meta/title uniqueness vs. other city pages.
